Mason Jar Pendant Light DIY Instructions
First, choose the mason jar you’ll be using depending on the look you’re going for. If you’re using a large Edison bulb be sure to select a wide-mouth mason jar with enough room to fit the bulb inside. Mason jars also come in different styles and colors so that you can match the look to your application. As far as size goes, we suggest a mason jar that is at least one quart or larger.
Now take the lid off your mason jar and place the socket end of the mini pendant centered on the lid. Trace around the socket with a Sharpie.
Next, use a hammer and nail to poke holes into the lid following the line. Also, poke several in the center of the lid. This will make cutting it with the snips easier. Make sure you are on a hard surface that cannot be damaged. Then use your tin snips to cut the circle you traced out of the mason jar lid.
Now slide the pendant light socket through the hole you created and screw on the bottom of the pendant light socket to hold in place.
Make sure to screw in your light bulb before attaching the mason jar to the mason jar lid.
Choose your location and install pendant light following light instructions provided in the pendant light kit. If you are not experienced with electrical work, you may need to contract a licensed electrician for this step.
